Carson Mather, R.Y.T.

Carson completed the 285-hr Yoga Teacher Training at blue lotus in 2009, and received certification in Pre- & Post-natal Yoga at Wilmington Yoga Center in 2010.

Carson discovered yoga in the mid-90s by stumbling upon a class at a gym in Chapel Hill; then about 10 years later she found her current teacher, and fell completely in love with the practice for the strength and healing it gave her. Through her own yoga practice during two difficult pregnancies, she learned the importance of finding time to rest and to heal, and to accept the process of pregnancy (& life) without judgment. She wants to help women get grounded in the experience of pregnancy to gain the mind-body connection that is necessary during labor and delivery. She sees yoga as a great way to get the muscles in shape, but more importantly a way to shift the energy in you and around you. In her prenatal classes, Carson focuses on making more space for baby and more stability for mom. She encourages students to get in touch with their own inner teacher.

Carson is grateful for having come across so many wonderful teachers in the past 7 years. Those that have inspired her practice and style of teaching most include Jill Sockman, Warren Grossman, Carrington Jackson, & Heather Till.

Christine Wall, R.Y.T.

Christine was first introduced to yoga in a Power Vinyasa Flow class taught by Lori Burgwyn in 2005. For Christine practicing Yoga was not only an empowering workout and an excellent compliment to her cycling classes, but it also became the ideal escape from her stressful corporate day job. Christine discovered that the mindful approach she had on her mat, she was now applying to her everyday life.

In 2009, Christine’s journey on her yoga mat was taken to the next level with her decision to complete a 200 hour Power Vinyasa Training at Franklin Street Yoga Center. In addition to teaching Power Flow Yoga, Christine wanted to offer something different to the yoga room. Mixing influences from her sports and dance background with Flow Yoga, Christine created Yoga Fusion- a class that combined weights and intense core training with flow yoga. As a yoga teacher, she feels continually inspired and energized by her students which keeps her classes evolving. You will find her smiling and empowering her students in yoga and cycling classes throughout the week at SYNCStudio! Be sure to check out Christine’s unique Yoga Fusion class if you haven’t already!

SooJin Yoon, R.Y.T.

SooJin Yoon stepped on a yoga mat for the first time in 1996 in New Mexico. Although she initially attended yoga classes to calm her nerves & get a great stretch, it didn’t take long before she realized that yoga offered SO much more. She found that yoga allowed her to become more aware of herself, while strengthening, opening and harmonizing her body, mind, heart and spirit.

As a salsa dancer and having trained in India’s classical Bharatanatyam dance, she is passionate about the dance-like qualities of vinyasa yoga. She continues to be inspiration from all of her past yoga teachers, as well as the spiritual lessons learned while traveling in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Central & South America, Caribbean & Pacific Islands. In particular, Soo-Jin derives inspiration from the focus on transformation in Baptiste-style of power Vinyasa yoga. Her own transformation includes morphing from a social science researcher of 11 years – to a mother of two adorable sons – to a yoga teacher. She is also inspired by her amazing children and one of her first yoga students, her husband.

SooJin’s classes are about finding a space where students are encouraged to create their own strength and power, where they can transform in all aspects of their life. Her focus on breath and alignment, while flowing through poses, allows students to unlock the full benefits yoga.
