Christine Wall, R.Y.T. & SYNCCYCLING Elite Instructor
Christine was first introduced, as a student, to both cycling and yoga in 2003. From an early age Christine has been very active, whether she was competing on the track or in races, playing soccer or as a modern dancer. In 2003, after recovering from multiple serious knee injuries, Christine was encouraged by a friend to try his cycling class as an alternative to running. Without realizing what she was getting into, Christine soon became hooked! The music was exhilarating, the instructors had amazing energy, and the sweaty, intense workouts soon became very addictive. In addition, over the years, Christine discovered many lasting friendships from the cycling room.
In 2005 Christine moved from being a student to instructing in the cycling room. Christine discovered she enjoyed sharing her passion of cycling with others through teaching, so much so she was often teased for being a cycling nut! In 2005, she became a certified Johnny G. instructor and now is a SYNCCYCLING Elite Instructor. Christine likes to keep her classes constantly evolving and empower her students by offering innovative, motivating and FUN workouts. Taking inspiration from the first cycling classes she took as a student, Christine brings high energy to every class with energizing music. Always looking for ways to create innovative classes, she has combined her background in yoga, fitness and dance with experiences she had on the bike with incredible instructors like Elsa Storm, a Master instructor.
In early 2005 Christine was introduced to a Power Vinyasa Flow class taught by Lori Burgwyn. Christine found these classes evoked the same awe inspiring feelings that dancing used to evoke for her. She found that the strength, flexibility and balance movements of yoga not only offered an amazing workout for the body, but also offered something even greater to the spirit. Yoga was not only an empowering workout and was an excellent compliment to cycling, but it also became the ideal escape for her from her stressful corporate day job. Christine discovered that the mindful approach she had on her mat, she was now applying to her everyday life.
In 2008, Christine’s journey on her yoga mat was taken to the next level with her decision to teach yoga and her own experiences with others. However, she wanted to offer something different to the yoga room. Mixing influences from her sports and dance background with yoga, Christine created Yoga Fusion- a power flow class that combined weights and intense core training with flow yoga. In addition Christine began teaching Vinyasa Power Flow classes as well. As a yoga teacher, she feels continually inspired and energized by her own students. Her student’s determination, dedication and growth on the mat are an inspiration for her instruction. Having completed a 200 hour Power Vinyasa Training at Franklin Street Yoga Center, Christine likes to think that as her own practice and journey evolves, so does that of her students with her.
Christine, a Durham native, lives with her 7 pound Rat Terrior, Calla. In addition to yoga and cycling, Christine finds joy and is enriched by dance, photography and her family and friends. Throughout the year some outdoor adventures and travel keep her smiling, too! |
